MINUTES OF MEETING  Monday 24th February 2014

 

MEETING OPENED-  7.30pm

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

·        Read and accepted: Eric Jorgensen and Michael Milligan

 

BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MEETING

·        The brigade  has been reimbursed by the shire for the Kingtree burn

.

CORRESPONDENCE IN

·        Form to apply to the ranger for private vehicle registration stickers for taking private vehicles to fire ground eg FCO

·        VHF  stickers for the fire truck

·        Copy of  brigade budget spendings  from the shire

TREASURERS REPORT

  • Report submitted

·        Shire has paid the brigade $ 1190 for the Kingtree roadside fuel reduction burn

 

 

FESA TRAINING

·        There are two on road driving training courses coming up. Michael will attend the course this weekend. The next  course is on April 13th. Applications close March22

·        This year’s training program can be found on the DEFES volunteer website

·        There are no outstanding uniforms to be delivered

 

WELLINGTON MILLS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION REPORT

·        Nil

 

CAPTAINS REPORT

·        Volunteers asked for a standby crew to attend Waroona fire if required

 

FCO REPORT

·        Nil meetings attended

 

GENERAL BUSINESS.

·        Michael demonstrated a balaclava that proves some protection from smoke inhalation. It is anti-fire  impregnated. Also provides protection from radiant heat. Micheal will follow up and order 10 if indicated.

·        Graeme has fixed the mounted sprinkler on the truck

·        The brigade thanked Graeme for the work he has done on the truck.

 

 

At the close of the meeting a burnover drill was conducted.
